Spring Training 2010

Spring Training 2010

Spring Training is finally here!!! Pitchers and catchers reported this week and Sammy, Janet and I headed out to the ballpark. The first day we went to the Royals and the kids met a new friend and played for about two hours as we watched the players practice. It was a nice start to the week.
Day 2 Sammy and I headed out to see the Rangers!! Our favorite team to visit! All the players are very friendly to the fans. It was a productive day, Sammy got a bunch of autographs and pictures with some players. I asked him to look and smile at the camera, I have no idea whats going on with his posed smile but its cute to look at. It was a rainy day and in the first 15 minutes he was sliding in the grass getting all muddy. The highlight of Sammy's day was playing with his new friend Alex and getting to interact and get a picture with Josh Hamilton. Hamilton is great with the kids. He told Sammy to come over to him to take the picture. Of course Sammy being the silly kid he is he ran away! The next thing you know Hamilton is chasing Sammy around the field with his bat to catch him! Its fun as a Dad to see your kids have fun!

We hope to see the Brewer's on day three!!

2010 D-Backs Fan Fest

2010 D-Backs Fan Fest

Sammy and I kicked off the 2010 season by going to the d-backs fan fest. This is the 3rd straight year we have attended. This year Sammy's cousins, Emmett and Daniel joined us. The kids had a great time, checking out the clubhouse, playing on the jumping castles and getting autographs from the players. The highlight of the day was getting to meet Luis Gonzalez and of course getting to spend some one on one time with my boy Sammy. He was a trooper, woke me up at 5:45am ready to go to the ballpark, he waited in all the long autograph lines with me, played hard with his cousins and by the end of the day he was completely worn out!! Sammy entertained my with his sign language, spanish and saying hello to everyone while we waited in the lines!! Emmett did a great job doing play by play auditioning for kidcasters, calling a Justin Upton homerun! Funny story, especially to anyone who knows me well, a friend bought Sammy a soda which was a Pepsi and Sammy said to him "it's not as good as a Coke but thanks for getting it for me", thats my boy, he knows the good stuff!!

Spring training starts in a few days and we are both excited to hit the fields! Sammy's is counting down to Friday when pitchers and catchers report and we can catch a practice.
